CGA Takes Engineering Design Program into Local New London School

NEW LONDON, Conn. - U.S. Coast Guard Academy Second Class Cadet Michael Gonzales works with New London Science and Technology Magnet High School students to build robotic boats during an Academy Robotics on the Water event held at the magnet school here, Thursday, March 17, 2011. The AROW program is an engineering-oriented program that exposes high school students and their teachers to the Coast Guard Academy and the opportunities available within the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines. This immersive one-day program is designed to demonstrate that engineering can be thrilling and to inspire participants to consider a STEM degree.
