ATLANTIC OCEAN — The crew of a Coast Guard training ship sail through the night Friday, as they transit south in the Atlantic Ocean off the east coast of the United States.
The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, a 295-foot barque homeported in New London, Conn., is in route to New Orleans with 63 officer candidate school and 16 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration members aboard.
As many as 30 people, consisting of the crew and trainees, are on watch at any given time while the Eagle is underway.
